Last weekend MCH's mobile clinic and midwife-training team travelled to yet another Mru village in the hilltracts. The team stayed overnight and had some truly primitive experiences.
This Spring, we held another midwife teaching course and clinic in a nearby Mru tribal village. Another doctor and I saw over 100 patients while about 60 women participated in traditional birth assistant classes.
Now that monsoon rains have stopped and travel has become more feasible, Malumghat Hospital Project sent a team of 12- doctors, nurses, medics, and teachers- by boat to a remote village in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Though community health workers have visited several times, the needs remain, and crowds flocked in.
